To further deepen industry-education integration and university-enterprise cooperation, and to better align talent cultivation with the needs of the digital industry, a delegation led by Huang Haoru, Chairman of Jiangsu Fenghao Digital Technology Co., Ltd., visited the School of Statistics and Data Science at Southeast University on May 25 for a meeting on university-enterprise cooperation. Liu Zhiyuan, Secretary of the School’s Directly Affiliated Party Branch, together with faculty representatives Li Boyu and Zheng Siming, attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Secretary Liu Zhiyuan warmly welcomed the delegation from Jiangsu Fenghao Digital Technology Co., Ltd. He gave a comprehensive introduction to the School’s development history, educational features, disciplinary strengths, faculty development, talent cultivation system, and research directions. He noted that statistics and big data analytics are foundational disciplines supporting the development of the digital economy. Building on its disciplinary strengths, the School closely follows the trends of digital and intelligent industrial development, and is committed to cultivating interdisciplinary and application-oriented talents with solid mathematical foundations, strong data analytics capabilities, and practical innovation skills.
Liu further emphasized that the School has always upheld the principle of integrating industry and education. By actively responding to market needs and connecting with high-quality enterprise resources, the School hopes to use this meeting as an opportunity to promote regular and in-depth cooperation with the company in areas such as internships and practical training, talent cultivation and recruitment, employment support, and research collaboration, thereby achieving resource sharing, complementary advantages, and coordinated development.
Huang Haoru, Chairman of Jiangsu Fenghao Digital Technology Co., Ltd., introduced the company’s development history, major business sectors, technological R&D capabilities, as well as its current talent needs and job competency requirements. He spoke highly of the School’s educational quality and achievements in talent cultivation. He noted that the digital technology industry relies heavily on core competencies such as statistical modeling, data mining, and data analysis, which are highly aligned with the School’s academic programs and training objectives. He expressed the company’s hope to establish a stable platform for university-enterprise cooperation with the School, jointly build practical education bases, and attract outstanding students to pursue career development in the company.
During the discussion session, the two sides held in-depth exchanges on key topics including university-enterprise cooperation in education, research, and industry; the cultivation of students’ practical abilities; targeted talent development and recruitment; and the R&D of frontier technology products. Based on industry development trends and the characteristics of student training, both sides exchanged views and reached preliminary cooperation intentions on several implementable initiatives.
Looking ahead, the School of Statistics and Data Science will continue to deepen industry-education integration, promote regular visits and exchanges with enterprises, expand high-quality internship and employment resources, and further improve its talent cultivation model featuring “disciplinary training+enterprise practice+targeted employment.” Through these efforts, the School will support students’ high-quality development and high-level employment, and cultivate more high-caliber professionals in statistics and data analytics for the development of “Data Science + X”.
